Halloween Party

Last night we co-hosted a wicked awesome Halloween Party with our friends Patrick and Bonnie.  We had a great turn out and it seemed like everyone had a great time.  The one benefit of having a Halloween party on the day after Halloween is that you can get some great decorations for super cheap.  We had tons of candles everywhere and lots of spooky skulls, spider webs and bats.  The pictures don't capture the spooky lighting- we were able to light the who place with only candles and the "fireplace".  Here are all the costumes for your viewing pleasure:

Kitty Pryde, Professor Xavier and Wolverine
For those of you who don't know the obscure X Men character that I was, her real name is Katherine Anne and so that worked well with Logan being Wolverine.  And it was way easier than Mystique, which was our original plan.  JFYI, there's a big shadow behind me.  I know I just had a baby, but I'm not that wide. The fake raven behind Logan's head (one of the great cheap decorations) makes it a little hard to see his sweet (and very real) side burns and hair. They were sprayed black but other than that it is all Logan.  That's how man he is. (Man enough to wear yellow tights) Here's one where you can see the boys a little better:

Our co-hosts, Link and Zelda

Brazilian Futebol Fans

Bret from Flight of the Conchords and The Stock Market

Spaghetti and Meatballs
(Seth and Sharon made this incredible costume themselves)

80's Chick, Pumpkin and C3PO

Robes of the False Priesthood and Alice (Eunice's little sister)

Disco Couple

Dinosaur and Sumo Wrestler
(Leslie's awesome battery operated fan powered costume hides her 2 days away from her due date belly quite well)

Kenneth and Frank from 30 Rock
(I seriously didn't recognize the very pretty Amelia when she first walked in- I wasn't sure who the weird dude was who was coming to our party. Excellent costumes guys.  Sorry no one else watches 30 Rock other than us.)

There were a couple other people there, but they were really lame and didn't wear costumes even though we specifically said they were required.  If they hadn't driven all the way from Rhode Island I would have kicked them out.

Here's a shot of the 50 or so paper bats that the Donigans and I hung from the ceiling.  It looked so great. I was really happy with the way everything turned out.  We had a great time. Thanks to everyone for coming.  We missed those of you who couldn't make it. You'll have to come to our spooky Christmas party we'll be having in a couple of months so we can get some more milage out of all the decorations.

SERIOUSLY. AWESOME. PARTY!!

We are sad that we weren't around for the party, but even sadder that we couldn't see Logan's sideburns in person. Seriously, even more awesome. And we love Soren's costume.

We don't know who Amelia and her husband are, but their costumes are amazing. And why doesn't everyone watch 30 Rock? It is the funniest show. (Sorry Office)

Can you please demand costumes for your spooky Christmas party just so we can see more great costumes. Aleks White in a fro? Are you kidding? Wow, Wangsgards, you really know how to throw a party.

Maybe a spooky spring party? If we can make it back to Boston for a little vacation then.

Thanks for putting up the pictures-like- the next day! I'm stealing some for my blog since I didn't take very many pictures with my own camera.

You forgot to mention that you guys won the costume contest- best group and best overall!

We all loved your costumes (well, Carter wasn't too interested I guess). You did an awesome job, and Dylan and I laughed for a long time at the yellow tights (laughed with you, of course). Oh, and you joke about spooky Christmas party, but at BYU, I had these super cute skeletons I hung up at halloween on our cupboards and didn't take down because we loved them, and then for Christmas we just made construction paper stockings, beanie hats, and candy canes for them to hold. So, maybe some santa beards on the bats, and you're set!
