Sneak Peak: Soren's NEW ROOM

I know I promised photos of our big room switch and re-do but I'm not quite ready to reveal it since I've been delayed by projects not coming out as planned. Such as the art I made for Soren's room using Charlie Harper alphabet flashcards. They looked great for a couple days, then the cards started to fall. For the first time ever, double stick tape has failed me. When Soren saw it he said: "Aw nuts, now I can't learn my ABC's." I'm looking for a more secure solution and will hopefully be able to share photos of the completed rooms soon.

soren seems pretty proud of his new room, despite the ACB fail. i think it's been three or four times now that i've come over and he's said, "want to see my new room?" and i always do. it never gets old.

Lisa: He actually said ABC's, ACB was a typo, though it would have made for a much funnier story. Apparently I need a poster in my room too.

And I love how excited you get every time he shows you his room. You are by far his best audience.

I say leave the piece as is. Call it modern art - a commentary on childhood's attempt to reject the rigid order placed on it by the demands of society and adulthood. Then sell it to the ICA for thousands of dollars.

I'm just always impressed by your beautifully organized books on shelves. Doesn't Soren take them out and throw them on the floor everyday? Or play library and pull off every single nicely stacked book?! That's what happens here. I'm jealous.

I sure love Lisa's comment. That sounds precious, and the sneak peak is looking pretty good. Also, it sounds like Soren has a very good vocabulary whether he knows his abc's or not, presumed not only from this post, but from the one where he said something like, "My arms are extraordinarily long."

I'm with Barry. When I first saw the photo I was thinking it was intentional and just wondered if you'd done it or bought it that way! ha!

hey kate its chelsi ritter from way back when! thanks for your chocolate cake recipe you gave me; i just wanted to let you know that i made it for a chocolate cake contest and i won second place. i covered it with chocolate buttercream frosting (i know, de-veganing it) and a raspberry filling. it was a big hit. and the first place winner's husband was a judge, so there you have it. :)
