One the tail end of our trip to Mississippi, Logan and I snuck off to Destin, Florida while my parents and brother kindly took care of Soren. It worked out so well to be able to leave him there and know he was safe and happy as can be. We were able to have a nice, much deserved getaway.

Once we got into town we loaded up on Sonic drinks and hung out on the beach all day - though the conversations of our fellow beach goers were far more interesting than the books we tried to read. Dear Local Girls on the beach: I'm not sure I wanted to know everything about you (including exactly how you both got pregnant in high school) but thanks for making our vacation much more memorable.

The second day was a little too chilly for the beach so we drove over to Seaside, FL to check out the creepy perfect streets and houses. While there we had a delicious lunch of fancy grilled cheese (from one of the many Airstream food trucks) along with some delicious fried pickles and a chocolate milk shake. Yes, please.

On our way back to Mississippi we passed this wacky place and had to stop to take a picture for Soren-  it did not disappoint. It was full of weird shark stuff and TONS of sketchy souvenirs.

We had such a great time, though it was far too short. Thanks to Logan for going away with me and a HUGE thanks to my parents for taking such good care of Soren and making this much needed break possible. We're already talking about when we can go back.

Your photos make me want to book a flight to FLA.
